This is an absolutely delicious recipe and a great crockpot recipe to try as the fall season starts. Just like most crockpot recipes, this is a simple recipe to cook by adding the ingredients below, and letting the crockpot do the rest of the work.
1/4 lb diced cooked bacon
2 medium thinly sliced onions
4 medium thinly sliced potatoes
1/2 lb shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper
Line your crockpot with aluminum foil, leaving enough to overlap the potatoes when finished. Layer half of the bacon, onions, potatoes and cheese in crockpot. Season with salt and pepper and a dot of butter. Repeat layers of bacon, onions, potatoes and cheese. Dot with butter. Overlap with remaining foil.
Cover and cook on LOW setting for 8 to 9 hours

Original Ranch® Cheeseburgers
Here's the recipe from Hidden Valley's site. It would probably be a better idea to caramelize some onionsand add them to the Ranch® burgers. Both mixes would add an awful lot of salt to your burgers.
1 packet/1 ounce Hidden Valley®
Seasoning & Salad Dressing Mix
1 pound ground beef
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
Combine seasoning & salad dressing mix with beef and cheese. Shape into 4 patties; cook thoroughly, until meat is no longer pink in the center. Toast buns before serving, if desired.
1/4 cup olive oil for frying onions
6 cup thinly sliced onions (approximately 3 pound)
6 garlic cloves
3 tablespoons fresh thyme or 1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper
Heat olive oil and add onions, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf. Cook, stirring occasionally, until most of the moisture has evaporated and the mixture is very soft, almost smooth, and caramelized. This takes about 45 minutes. Discard the bay leaf and season with salt and pepper.
